Open for Business was the 2023 School of Visual Arts MFA Design Thesis Show where 21 graduates made their final presentations to the design community. I am the lead motion designer in charge of creating animations for the show and live stream. The logo was designed by the branding lead, Alexander Mooney.

Note on Motion Design

The initial branding was deemed outdated, like a restaurant brand, and not ideal for cool motion graphics. However, as the lead motion designer, I challenged those creative assumptions and came up with new ideas to reinvigorate the retro branding through simplification, layered composition, and dynamic music. The end result exceeded the expectations of faculties, students, and audiences in terms of social media impressions and the final theater experience.
