Mid-Autumn Festival and Lantern Festival are two traditional Chinese festivals celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month and 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar. To help New York University Chinese Students & Scholars Association publicize each festival's cultural activities, I design two posters where I incorporate traditional Chinese elements with my minimalistic aesthetics.
In the Lantern Festival, people eat tangyuan (sweet dumplings) to worship the god of fire. Tangyuan naturally becomes the icon of the poster. I designed the six tasty white tangyuan in a bowl. The color contrast of orange and white makes the food look yummy.

Mid-Autumn is the time of the year when a full moon can be seen, so a full moon becomes the iconic element on the poster. The decoration of the clouds adds layers to the design.
I am inspired by how moon phrase changes periodically so I implement the changing pattern in the motion graphics to show case the roundness of a full moon.
